Today's Thought - Jung

What did Jung mean by this?  Do we have it backwards?  When we sleep, and dream - are we really awake?  When we are awake, are we really dreaming?  Hovering around this thought -  When you look into your heart, can you begin to realize the world around you is a construct of your thoughts - and those thoughts, like dreams, can be changed?  Can you change the world around you by changing the way you think about it?

We've had this discussion before, that your life is your's to live and the decisions you make and your total outlook on life is what shapes that. If you go through life believing bad things are going to happen, then they will. If you go through life believing that you will find happiness, then you will. It's sort of a mind over matter thing, I guess, yet without uncertainty and doubt how could we call ourselves human? It's human nature to not completely believe in something and I think that's what Jung was trying to say. Dreams are dreams because we lose ourselves in them and have no perception of human nature, yet we live to try and recreate those dreams into reality. So, in turn, are we really ever awake? Or are we caught in some never ending cycle of chasing these, almost, unreachable thoughts? Now I'm ranting, it's 1:00 AM, and I'm not sure if any of that made any sense. Anyway, I'll stop here, thanks for giving me something fun to think about.
